WEEK 1_TASK
Search for meanings of below listed terms. Make sure you note your reference & dates retrieved from the sources.

Cross-disciplinary can be defined as knowledge that explains aspects of one discipline in terms of another. For examples of cross-disciplinary approaches are studies of the physics of music or the politics of literature.

Interdisciplinary refer to new knowledge extensions that exist between or beyond existing academic disciplines or professions. In short, it can be defined as interaction among two or more academic disciplines into one activity. The new knowledge may be claimed by members of none, one, both, or an emerging new academic discipline or profession.

Trans disciplinary can be thought of as the union of all interdisciplinary efforts. While interdisciplinary teams may be creating new knowledge that lies between several existing disciplines, a trans disciplinary team is more holistic and seeks to relate all disciplines into a coherent whole.

Qualitative research
is a method of inquiry employed in many different academic disciplines, traditionally in the social sciences, but also in market research and further contexts. Qualitative researchers aim to gather an in-depth understanding of human and the reasons that govern such behaviour  Quantitative methods can then be used to seek empirical support for such research hypotheses

Ethnographic research is the study of cultures through close observation, reading, and interpretation. As a research method, ethnography is used in many disciplines, among anthropology, political and social studies, education, and others. Ethnographic research allows you to get “up close and personal” with cultures. It places researchers at the heart of the investigations, often allowing them to participate in the very culture they study. Such an active role gives writers valuable insights into their subject, which usually cannot be achieved simply by studying books, journal articles, and websites.

Can you imagine this world without televisions, radios or Internet connections? All these media facilities provide people awareness of what is going on around them. As you know, electronic as well as print media is an effective way of communication as it provides with information ranging from local and state-wide stories, to coverage of events and also information worldwide. In these days even the remotest of villages can get at least one daily newspaper to update the latest news and happenings of the world. Moreover, written media is the cheapest medium of collecting all important information of the district, city, country and the world. With no doubt, the ability of the media to reach a wide audience with a strong and influential message has the potential to have a strong social and cultural impact upon society. Based on Marshall McLuhan , "the medium is the message" which can explain how the distribution of a message is more important than content of the message itself. It is through the persuasiveness of influential media such as television, radio and print media that they have been largely responsible for structuring people's daily lives and routines. Television broadcasting has a large amount of control over the content society watches and the times in which it is viewed. Nowadays most of the companies that want to sell their products by advertising also make use of media. The internet creates a space for more diverse political opinions, social and cultural viewpoints and a heightened level of consumer participation.

Furthermore, I personally think that the most important use of media is to educate the people about the basic human rights. Education and discipline is the key to progress. Hence, media work to educate the people, to help the people and to liberate the people and to empower the people. The media focuses in bringing details of all major situations, decisions and scenarios. People can better understanding their rights and make better decisions. In other way, power of media spread extensive, it can be used to educated people with low cost. For example, there are limited numbers of student that can be handling by a teacher but it can be more than thousand people learning at the same time through the media. For your information, media itself has made people educated and trained with a lot of channels imparting knowledge and information to the public and many of the channels provided the source to confirm it.  Since the media affect our eye, our ears and our mind simultaneously nothing can overcome the influence of the media. We can conclude that media overall is playing very active role for educating, training, guiding and providing information to general public.
